Great game I loved how nice it looks and the whole atmosphere is quite soothing!
Important Notice!! I had to play the game several times before actually knowing that you cannot finish the game if your main monitor is above 60Hz. That means, if the game runs over 60FPS it starts to bug out! I only noticed few people in the comments also encountering this problem.
Examples:
#1. In main menu if you click Settings button the game also registers the click of Return button since the action of clicking is done by holding down the mouse click (instead of mouse click being released).
#2. Same issue as above, if you try to go inside/outside the delivery place, you may sometimes teleport in the same place instead of opposite. Once again, the mouse click registers both going outside and inside so it teleports randomly.
#3. At the ending scene/stranger's home, when you try to go inside his room, the player's camera gets teleported outside (models vanished) OR inside the stranger's room but in the wrong spot (I got teleported on the kitchen table).
These problems will get encountered by players that use monitors with more than 60HZ (like 144Hz) and leave VSYNC OFF.
How to Fix?:
#1. You either have to change your monitor's refresh rate to 60Hz (from windows display options) + VSYNC ON in game.
#2. Or limit the FPS of the game in Nvidia Settings to 60FPS + VSYNC ON in game.
I used the first method just to make sure.
If you want to see the bugs in action I can send you a video via email to understand it better.
Regardless of those I love the game! I'm wishing you all the best in making more! 🥰 Thank You!
Thanks for the detailed analysis. I have a 144Hz monitor and everything works fine though, but I've seen that sometimes there is a chance for bugs. It might be completely random, but I'm not sure.
Yeah I am not sure what's going on, but since I changed to 60Hz on my monitor (so it caps) and game's VSYNC ON (so the game will never get past 60FPS) - everything went smooth without ANY bugs no matter how many times I played. The moment I changed back to 144Hz and VSYNC OFF (so game can go past 144FPS) - I noticed the bugs coming back right off the start.
The most frustrating part was the ending. You don't get teleported inside the stranger's room, you're still outside talking to no one, the dialog still continues. When you're asked to grab the pen nothing happens, you're softlocked and you cannot do anything besides restarting the whole game once again.
If the actions are based on the animations' last frames (like the fade out) - that might be an issue. The GPU and/or the higher the FPS of the game (monitor >60Hz and VSYNC OFF), the more chances it may jump over just one singular frame of the game, that's all it takes for the game to not register that ending.
My idea would be check the player's camera position (XYZ) at the end to see where does it actually land on - even though it might go inside the room, something has to interfere with it and teleport it right back outside in a split second.
That's my take on it, hopefully it helps you in a way or another and figure what's the actual issue behind it. Wishing you all the best!! ❤️
Can you please write to the email in the profile? I will make a new build, and also show how to skip to the end in 1 minute for quick testing, thank you.
Hey, sorry I couldn't write in time. I see you've already updated the game so I'm not sure if sending you the video with bugs from the old version is useful anymore 🙃
I did play the updated version and everything seems to be good now! I finished the game without encountering the issues I've mentioned previously. I tested the menu buttons and the delivery place (going in and out) and all is good! The ending was also triggered right off the bat with no weird teleportation problems.
Glad to see it fixed now and I'm looking forward more games! Best of luck! ❤️
I would have never found out that 60 fps cap fixes the most critical bugs. I was on the point of hiding the game because such a failure near the end is really frustrating. Thanks again for the help.
Hey no problem! I'm happy you finally sorted it out and it runs smoothly now! And don't worry about it, it's a good thing you posted the game on itch io and so many people play it as they can point out if anything is unusual about it. Regardless of how many times you tested it as a developer, you may never know what a player would randomly do in your game that you would never think of; think outside the box. Many bugs arrise even on triple A games much later after the release date, so you can never know. Keep doing your best and you'll improve day by day. Best of luck! ❤️
This was a fun short horror game my dude! I had no idea what was going to happen or what to expect! What was he delivering!? Why was it from a liquor store!? Great graphics and sound effects, very solid all around! I enjoyed this one and recommend completely! Here is my gameplay video, sub and help my channel grow everybody! :)
This is a really good game. I like how the atmosphere of the neighborhood kind of fits how our character feels not only about himself but his job and just matching his overall mood. I wish there was another ending but this one fits the whole story. I enjoyed this. Keep up the good work.
Saludos!!!
Enjoyed this game very much. Though it does feel empty a little bit. I was expecting more jumpscares / creepy sfx scenes, but nontheless it was a solid 8/10! :)
hey man this game was GREAT! gameplay overall decent the spook parts were spooky and SCARED ME, considering that this is your first game it is EXCELLENT keep it up I might even play your future games 10/10
Nice game design wise and more on the self thought of the routine of job with why are we even doing a job that tires ourself out or dislike. liked the flow of the game. Looking forward to the next one
You get bonus points for including a cat for the players to pet, that always makes any game better. Anyway, the game as a whole is fairly straight forward and ''simple'' but still quite effective at being spooky. Simple isn't a bad thing by the way, just making that clear. I do wish there was a bit more ambiance noise, perhaps crickets or distant city sounds just so it's not just silent footsteps the whole time. The ending isn't unexpected but you did manage to get the tension to build up and still be scary so great job there. For your first release on itch.io, this is a great start so keep up the good work! Your game is the first one on my video.
This was an intriguing one - Saito's thoughts as he delivered packages at night really got a bit deep and philosophical - and the fact that the isolation of the town he was in really brought back memories of COVID. Had a bit of a studio Ghibli vibe with some of Saito's thoughts - reminded me of watching some of Hayao Miyazaki's videos and his ideologies etc.
Everyone wants to be a rockstar though, right?
Sometimes you just have to roll with the cards you're dealt with. Or win the lottery. Great indie game, really enjoyed it.
Игра понравилась, особое почтение выражаю окружению и рассказанной истории. Насколько я понял в игре пока что только одна концовка, хотелось бы еще парочку!
Included this in my 3 random horror game video! What a solid game this was! Really set the stage quite well with the story than that final ending there. Made a video on it.
hey creator I hope you're reading this either at night or in the afternoon or whatever time just read this as soon as possible there is a issue im having in playing this game after the intro cutscene it shows this for some reason and I cannot see anything nor do anything maybe you can try to fix this issue and maybe fix it as soon as possible I would love to play this game fully to the end but this issue is holding me back from doing it mb it could be that there is no collision in the floor
Hi, there is only one ending, otherwise if the guy just left it would be less interesting (missed content). I know it is not perfect and sometimes it annoys players, but I think there is no other way.
Im trying to make a similar game like yours and I just don't know where to start could you give me a few pointers on how you made the background and the scenary of late night Japan. Thank you

Buen juego
Dashie's playthrough
I love the atmosphere, i love the graphics, i can totally relate to this game 100%, it makes me question about my life lol.
It's kinda unfortunate to encounter this kind of experience especially when you're tired from work. 10/10!
Loved every minute of this game!
liked the game very much. I just think it was too short there is a lot of potential and it was pretty scary but you have stuff to work on
is it just have one ending right? It's a little short but your artstyle is good
too buggy for me but i see the potential 5/10
The kind of horror game I can deal with! Thanks and keep it up, :) #Malaysia

W game
This was an awesome experience. Love the world you built ! Thank you for sharing and keep up the good work !
This game is so great! The vibes and graphics are on point, and the story (tho it depressed me about my life XD) was well written and made sense.
The only thing I would suggest is to make more stuff like this one <33
CaseOh's video!
this game hits hard as someone who worked for a place that I didn't like and moved on to a doing what I love
Tea?

There was a nasty bug in the end where some of the models would disappear, I'm sorry, I've already fixed it 😢
I uploaded my gameplay of your game! Again, you made a great game. Looking forward to more of your work!
I wish there was more endings, good game tho.
Included this in my 3 random horror game video!

I had this problem once during testing, you can just restart through the menu, sorry.
EDIT: I fixed the build and now I'm 100% sure there are no problems with it.
so I just replayed it and it seems to be working now, btw thanks for the advice/tip 😊
Why do you HAVE to go in for the tea? Is there more than one ending?
Hi, there is only one ending, otherwise if the guy just left it would be less interesting (missed content). I know it is not perfect and sometimes it annoys players, but I think there is no other way.
black screen, cannot do anything
download again and maybe even extract the zip file mine worked
Extracted
If you had a black screen after the intro, I already fixed it. Or was it even before the menu?
Im trying to make a similar game like yours and I just don't know where to start could you give me a few pointers on how you made the background and the scenary of late night Japan. Thank you
